  • MedSurg Level 7- Post Surgical position at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, West Virginia.
  • Common diagnoses include Ortho: Post Op knee replacement, Hip Replacement, Hip Fractures, Shoulder Replacement, GU: TURBT, TURP, Bladder biopsy, etc.
  • Experience required: Transfuse blood, RN License, wound vac changes, PCA pumps.

    • BLS certification required.
    • RN License required.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts: RNs 7-7, CNAs 6-6.
      • Every other weekend required.
      • May be asked to participate in holiday rotation.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Charge nurses on each shift; daylight charge does not take an assignment, night turn charge can take a small assignment of 2-3 patients.
        • No monitor techs on this unit; nursing is not required to read their own strips.
          • Additional Details
          • Patient Care Technicians on unit with staffing of 3 PCTs on dayshift and 2 PCTs on nightshift.
          • No self-scheduling; schedules are discussed with staff and set schedules are usually followed.
