Our team focuses on delivering safety and the utmost attention, while creating the best experience possible. - -A caregiver in this position works varying shifts. -A caregiver who excels in this role will: -

• Provide direct nursing care. -
• Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for a given patient population. -
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately. -
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinating the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate. -
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document. -
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process. -
• Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person/role model/mentor, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit. -
• Complete admission assessments of maternal and/or infant patients, communicate changes in patient condition and patient care/unit issues, ensure JCAHO Core Measures related to nursing care are achieved, incorporate patient safety goals and complete all paper and electronic records. -Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: -
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing -
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) -
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification -
  • Within one year of hire: completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and STABLE certification -
  • Within six months of hire: completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) -Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: -

      • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
      • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
      • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
      • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
      • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
      • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
