Executive Director - Right to Life of Northeast OhioRight to
Life of Northeast Ohio is seeking a full-time Executive Director
who is mission-driven and an experienced business leader. Right to
Life of NEO is a non-profit agency that protects innocent human
life from conception through natural death...no exceptions!The
Executive Director shall demonstrate a vibrant personal faith in
Jesus Christ as Savior and be an active member of a local church.
This position will report to and work with a board of directors in
our Akron office. This is a full-time position with a competitive
salary. We offer PTO and a health insurance stipend.Essential
Functions
- Program Development and Administration
- Assure that the organization makes consistent and timely
progress toward our long-range strategy and mission
- Provide leadership in developing programs, organizational and
financial plans with the Board of Directors and staff
- Carry out plans and policies authorized by the board
- Promote active participation by volunteers in all areas of the
organization's work
- Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and
trends in the pro-life ministry
- Communications and Marketing
- Attend all board meetings and provide reports and updates on
all current work, project timelines and organizational
progress
- Be responsible for marketing and publicizing the activities of
the organization, its programs and goals
- Establish sound working relationships and cooperative
arrangements with community groups and organizations
- Represent the programs and point of view of the organization to
agencies, organizations, and the public
- Human Resources
- Ensure that office staff are supervised and that regular
performance evaluations are held, and that sound human resource
practices are in place
- Maintain a climate which attracts, keeps and motivates a
diverse group of volunteers
- Budget and Finance
- Plan, actively manage, and oversee the organization's
operations, programs and fundraising while ensuring the
organization's financial sustainability.
- Work with the board in preparing budgets for each event and see
that the organization operates within budget guidelines
- Review and approve contracts for services with board
approvalCompetencies
- Must have excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented
-- must be thorough when performing work and strive to achieve
accuracy and consistency in all tasks
- Must have experience supervising employees and volunteers
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Publisher
- Public speaking experience
- Experience with fundraising
- Some marketing experience, including Constant Contact
- Motivated -- willing and eager to recruit new donors and
sponsors
- Trustworthy -- candidate must be able to create and maintain
relationships of trust with team members and ally
organizations
- Persuasive -- candidate must be able to inspire donors and
sponsors to engage
- Must have experience with deadlines and be able to manage a
calendar and deadlines
- Must be able to communicate well (written, verbal and in
person)
- Must possess a high level of professionalism and
confidentiality
- Must be pro-life with no exceptionsTravelSome local travel is
required with this position.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a
professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard
office equipment such as computers, phones, and copiers.Physical
DemandsMust be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with
reasonable accommodations. Work is generally done sitting, talking,
listening, and typing. May be required to lift objects up to
20lbs.Position Type/Expected HoursThis position is a full-time
position. Hours are typically 9:00 am--5:00 pm, Monday through
Friday. Some weekend and evening work may be required.Supervisory
ResponsibilityThis position supervises one office employee and
